Preparing for a Hurricane

Preparing for a Hurricane

Many of us native Floridians are familiar with the routine during hurricane season: get prepared then wait and see. During the “wait and see” part, especially for those of us in areas expected to be directly impacted, it’s easy to get caught up in watching the news, double checking supplies, and keeping track as businesses start to close. Don’t forget the ethical responsibilities to clients during this time. Not only checking in on clients and rescheduling sessions as needed, but also safeguarding all records. Now is the time to tie up any loose ends before the weather deteriorates.

For out of state practitioners working with Floridians, check in on your clients if you have sessions scheduled this week, as power and internet outages may be at risk. And keep in mind that these storms may stir up symptoms of anxiety and depression, though of course that’s not the case for everyone.

We have no intention of closing this week unless we’re forced to if we lose power or internet. All calls will be answered, scheduled meetings will be held, and completed courses will be submitted to CE Broker.

Take care and be safe!
